Central to this piece was a vacation to a small village between a lake and a forest, marking Wound’s first extended break from the city in several years. Through daily walks among the trees and prolonged periods of deep listening, a sense of clarity and radiance started to emerge, reconnecting Wound with the elemental truths that reside within stillness and nature. Most of the composition is built from a single piano loop, fed into a granular synthesiser and splayed/retuned into countless different forms, with the whole piece roughly divided into three separate sections. The truth spills in all directions, multifarious and yet united in origin, ironically resembling the bustle of the city in its energy – albeit inverted into something serene, crystalline.
