about

Metal mollochs that bind two sides of Kraków together are captured in these 5 recordings spanning from the East-most Kotlarski Bridge to the Western-most Dębnicki. The two almost serving as natural barriers of the living and breathing tissue of the green boulevards on the Vistula river, capturing the sound of the old Jewish-district Kazimierz and Wawel Castle, tourists and wandering souls included.

There is a surreal quality to the sound that is created underneath, as cars and trams pass above us and the metal creaks and screams, all of that being trapped almost in an echo box between the concrete and the water.
The space under the bridges, culturally associated with poverty, or rejection from society, here serve as portals to another sphere of sound.

While not perfect, I believe the recordings can be enjoyed as many field-recordings can be.
